This defeat confirmed the inevitable for Huddersfield Town. There will be no play-off campaign.
That’s nothing we didn’t already know, and we’ve discussed the many failures that led them to this point repeatedly and extensively. We will continue to do so over what remains of the season and into the summer.
The most notable news of the day was Jon Worthington’s confirmation after the game that he will be returning to his role as academy manager once the season is finished.

This task will naturally come to dominate the conversation before long. For now, it’s worth acknowledging again what a dismal failure of a campaign this has been by any standard.
By the club’s own stated objectives, a play-off place was meant to be the consolation prize at the very worst, not a vain hope dashed with two games still to play.
