1. Huddersfield Town will go down if this continues

Ah, yes, we remember this team: a Carlos Corberan side that isn’t always brilliant for 90 minutes, doesn’t always look exceptional on the ball, but who perform best when their backs are against the wall and can be as clinical and incisive as the best of them.

It feels a long time since that was how we spoke about Town, doesn’t it? Now, after another Saturday afternoon of nightmare results elsewhere, they sit inside the bottom three for the first time since the beginning of the season, and further from any real hope than they have ever been.

The most frustrating thing is just how much Town let this get away from them. For 45 minutes, we had nothing but praise for the way they went about their business.

Town made promotion contenders West Brom look second-best throughout the first half, forcing them into wayward, sloppy passes and then winning their duels superbly in midfield to put the visitors under immediate pressure.

And then…we all saw what happened. Town went into the dressing room as giants and came back out as mice. That’s a worrying sign when the pressure is only going to grow from here.
