Fylde friendly puts Huddersfield Town transfer questions in focus

Martin Drury and Huddersfield Town have decisions to make in a couple of positions

Seeing two different line-ups across the two halves against Birmingham and Fylde, respectively, has helped put the shape of the squad in perspective.

One obvious point — which we won’t labour here because we’ve said it plenty of times since last season ended — is the lack of wingers in the Town squad. Last week we saw central midfielders David Kasumu and Dan Vost play in wide areas. Over in Lancashire, Town played the second half with Lasse Sorensen on the right wing.

But there are a few positions where Town have more options than they are likely to need in the campaign ahead, and the line between healthy competition and squad bloat is starting to blur.
