Goodison Park to host Huddersfield Town's Carabao Cup clash with Preston North End
The game has been relocated as Deepdale is unavailable due to pitch renovations
Huddersfield Town will begin their season at Goodison Park thanks to their Carabao Cup trip to Preston North End being relocated.
The game had originally looked set to be played at Preston’s usual Deepdale home on Saturday 8th August, but the pitch will not be ready in time thanks to ongoing pitch renovations.
Town’s request for the game to played at Accu Stadium was denied.
Instead, North End have successfully applied to the EFL for the game to be played at the famous old ground in Liverpool, which has hosted Everton’s women’s and academy games at a reduced capacity since the men’s side moved to the swanky new Hill Dickinson Stadium last summer.
Ticket and travel information will be announced in due course.
