Huddersfield Town have been sitting in fourth place for nearly two months now. Even a 16-game unbeaten run has done nothing to help the Terriers close the gap on the top two and a coveted automatic promotion place.

Entry into the play-offs would not be the worst booby prize in the world, but it’s a stressful uncertainty that everyone would rather avoid if possible.
