Huddersfield Town apply for stadium Hilton hotel planning permission
The club have submitted a planning applicated for a 141-room hotel adjacent to Accu Stadium
Huddersfield Town have released an image of how the planned Hilton hotel adjoining Accu Stadium is proposed to look after making a formal planning application.
The plans would see the club’s current office facilities and the former gym underneath redeveloped into a 141-room Hilton Garden Inn with a 100-seat restaurant, an atrium, and a gym for hotel guests, as well as incorporating the recently built H Town bar.
The project would also add more public spaces for matchgoing fans at home games, as well as revamping the boxes in the Terriers Together north stand.
Subject to approval being granted, the club’s current projected timeline would mean that stand would be closed for the 2027/28 season to allow the hotel to be built. The rest of the stadium is expected to be unaffected.
Any supporters affected by that closure will be contacted by the club once timescales are confirmed.
Town chairman Kevin Nagle said: “I am incredibly excited to announce that we have officially submitted the planning application for our hotel development at the Accu Stadium.
“This is the culmination of months of hard work behind the scenes. We have been working closely with experts to focus on what would benefit not only Huddersfield Town the most, but the town of Huddersfield as well.
“We have teamed up with Hilton Hotels to bring the Hilton Garden Inn brand, as they share our same vision that goes far beyond the building itself.
“Having acquired the full 53-acre site surrounding our home in HD1 last year, this marks the true start of our first stage of development and initial steps toward becoming a real year-round destination and venue, breathing new life and possibilities into the club and our stadium.
“I have stated from the first time I stepped into Huddersfield just over three years ago that the potential is here. I fell in love with the place from day one, and with the help of the team we’ve assembled, we are fully focused on turning that potential into a reality for all to benefit from.
“This is a massive next step.”
