Huddersfield Town confirm Neo Eccleston contract extension
The full-back will stay at the Accu Stadium for a further year
Neo Eccleston has agreed a one-year extension to his Huddersfield Town contract, keeping him at the club until next summer.
Town had announced in May that they were in discussions with the 21-year-old full-back over a new contract after he played a part for Jon Worthington’s side in the last couple of games of last season. Eccleston spent the first half of last season out on loan with League Two side Barrow.
Lee Grant said: “Neo is an exciting young player with plenty of potential, and he’s shown an intensity and desire from day one of pre-season since the squad arrived back at Canalside that’s been pleasing to see.
“We will work closely with him as a coaching staff each day to maximise his potential and build on his experiences from last season, preparing him both mentally and physically for a full season of senior football.
“Having a squad with competition for places across the pitch is key, and with so many different competitions to contest ahead of us, there will be plenty of opportunity to show your ability and stake your claim, and I look forward to seeing Neo do just that.
“He has started pre-season well, with the right attitude and dedication, and that will need to grow and continue over the next month as we get closer to our season beginning.”
