Cheeky alphabetisation dodgers AFC Wimbledon also have nothing to play for on the final day of the regular League One season after putting themselves four points clear of the drop zone with victory over Wigan Athletic last weekend.
That marked Wimbledon’s first victory in ten league games, which has been pretty typical for them this season: they have been the ultimate streaky team this season, veering between winning form and losing form throughout the campaign.
We’ll have five conclusions on the game (but let’s be honest, not really on the game at all) for our paying subscribers first thing on Sunday morning, followed by further reaction in Monday morning’s podcast. Get signed up if you’re not already.
Huddersfield Town injuries and absences
Jak Alnwick will go ‘right down the the wire’ with the back spasm that forced him off at half time last time out, with a last-second call on his fitness expected before Town set off to London on Friday.
Lee Nicholls is still in the concussion protocols and will not feature on Saturday.
David Kasumu went off in the first half of the Mansfield game with a tight hamstring and would seem unlikely to be risked here.
Radinio Balker is however hoped to be back available for selection this weekend after missing out on Saturday.
Jon Stead has suggested some ‘younger lads’ may get a look in against Wimbledon but that the priority will be trying to win the game.
Ruled out for the final game of the season are:
Cameron Ashia
Josh Feeney
Lynden Gooch
Other doubts include:
Ryan Hardie
Bojan Radulovic
Jack Whatmough
Predicted line-up to face Wimbledon
