Huddersfield Town digest: Injury blows to two centre-backs
Josh Feeney has been ruled out for the next few weeks while Jack Whatmough has had a setback in his recovery from injury

Town will make the short trip to visit Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon with both sides desperate to end a five-game run without a win in the league.
Honestly, finding much of interest about the Millers from the stats so far this season is difficult. They have been pretty well bang-average in most regards other than having scored a relatively paltry 20 goals. We suppose that’s why they sit 16th in the table, just one point off the top half but also just two points outside the relegation zone.
Rotherham do tend towards long balls more than most League One sides, and have had just 44% possession this campaign; however, their aerial success rate is one of the lowest in the division.
We would say that things could be worse for Rotherham; they have avoided conceding as many goals as their xG would suggest, largely thanks to Cameron Davies having made a league-leading 62 games this season — nine more than the next busiest goalkeeper in League One.
We’ll have five conclusions on the game for our paying subscribers first thing on Sunday morning, followed by further reaction in Monday morning’s podcast. Get signed up not if you’re not already, or give a We Are Terriers subscription as a Christmas present.
Huddersfield Town injuries and absences
Josh Feeney picked up a groin injury against Northampton and returned to Aston Villa to be looked at last week, but is now back at Canalside. He is expected to miss the next 2-4 weeks.
Joe Taylor was left out against Wigan on Saturday but Lee Grant has confirmed that was a selection decision and nothing to do with injury.
Marcus McGuane is hoped to be back available in training in the next couple of weeks after recurrent groin niggles.
However, Jack Whatmough has had another setback in his recovery from a calf injury and is back out of training. His recovery timeline is now unclear.
Will Alves (foot), Herbie Kane (groin) and Zepiqueno Redmond (knee) are all back in individual training but all three have a way to go before they will be available for selection.
Antony Evans (knee) and Mickel Miller (hamstring) are both expected to be out until roughly around the end of January.
Predicted line-up to face Rotherham
3-4-1-2: Lee Nicholls; Radinio Balker, Joe Low, Murray Wallace; Lynden Gooch, Marcus Harness, Ryan Ledson, Ruben Roosken; Leo Castledine; Alfie May, Bojan Radulovic.
Substitutes: Owen Goodman, Sean Roughan, Lasse Sorensen, David Kasumu, Cameron Ashia, Ben Wiles, Dion Charles.
Huddersfield Town Women
Town Women will not be in action again until the new year.
Their game against Doncaster Rovers Belles last Sunday was called off, but they remain top of the table despite not having played after Cheadle drew with Blackburn and Wythenshawe suffered a home defeat to Stockport.
