Huddersfield Town digest: Injury updates and predicted line-up for Burton trip
All the latest from the Terriers ahead of their trip to relegation-battling Burton
Coming up next
Burton Albion have it all on the line in Saturday afternoon’s trip to the Pirelli Stadium. The Brewers currently sit in the relegation zone, three points behind Bristol Rovers, but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
Burton have enjoyed a pretty positive record at home recently, with three of their four victories on their own turf coming over their past six home outings.
The two sides shared a 1-1 draw at the John Smith’s Stadium in December that left both sides frustrated. Michal Helik got a late equaliser for a dominant Town after Charlie Webster had scored the opener on 13 minutes.
Huddersfield Town injuries and absences
Jon Worthington has indicated there are no new injuries from Tuesday night’s game against Wycombe, but also suggested there will be no returns from injury on Saturday either
That does not include Radinio Balker, however: he will be available to face Burton. The centre-back was merely rested against Wycombe in midweek having only recently returned from a quad injury and started the previous three games.
Brodie Spencer has missed those past three games with a hamstring injury and is being assessed on a game-by-game basis, while Herbie Kane has been out since mid-February with a knee injury and is now closing in on a return. Both players have been in individual training but will not be available for selection on Saturday.
Tom Lees has been out of action with a knee injury of his own since February, with no return date set publicly.
Chris Maxwell has an ongoing hip issue and Tom Iorpenda has a long-standing back issue.
Rhys Healey, Danny Ward and Nigel Lonwijk are all ruled out for the season.
Predicted line-up to face Burton Albion
4-2-3-1: Lee Nicholls; Lasse Sorensen, Radinio Balker, Matty Pearson, Mickel Miller; David Kasumu, Jonathan Hogg; Tawanda Chirewa, Ben Wiles, Ruben Roosken; Dion Charles.
Substitutes: Jacob Chapman, Josh Ruffels, Antony Evans, Joe Hodge, Josh Koroma, Callum Marshall, Joe Taylor.
Huddersfield Town Women
Town Women will host top-of-the table Cheadle Town Stingers in Sunday’s 2pm kick-off at the Stafflex Arena, with tickets priced at £6 for adults, £4 for concessions and free for children.
Town have nothing left to play for in the league but it will be a vital game for Cheadle, who go into the game level on points with Middlesbrough with just two games left to play.
