Huddersfield Town digest: Predicted line-up ahead of Stevenage and Sunderland
A quick little digest this week with everything straightforward on the injury front and Town's task in the next two games pretty clear

Coming up next
Saturday’s visitors Stevenage are the only side in League One to have maintained a 100% record across their first four games of the new campaign, claiming victories over Blackpool, Rotherham, Northampton and Port Vale.
Centre-forward Jamie Reid has been a particular threat and leads the division’s goalscorer table with five goals, including both his side’s late goals as they won from behind at Vale Park on Tuesday night.
We’re expecting a real clash of styles from this one. Aerially-dominant Stevenage play to their strengths. They have won by far the most headers in the league this season and are among the most long-ball sides in the division so far this season: they have gone long almost twice as often as Town.
Alex Revell’s side are also one of just six League One teams who yet to concede from a set piece this season, and have matched Town’s efforts at the other end with three goals from free kicks and corners.
Then on Tuesday night it’s a Carabao Cup second-round trip to newly-promoted Premier League side Sunderland, who raised eyebrows with a 3-0 win over West Ham in their first game back in the top flight.
We will have five conclusions on the Stevenage game and a reaction to the Sunderland game available exclusively to our paying backers, so get signed up with a 7-day free trial to get access to that as well as our weekly podcast, which is out on Mondays.
Huddersfield Town injuries and absences
Town are expected to be without Mickel Miller (hamstring) and Antony Evans (knee) until September-October.
Predicted line-up to face Stevenage
4-2-3-1/3-4-1-2: Owen Goodman; Lynden Gooch, Jack Whatmough, Joe Low, Sean Roughan; Ryan Ledson, Herbie Kane; Marcus Harness, Ben Wiles, Ruben Roosken, Joe Taylor.
Substitutes: Lee Nicholls, Murray Wallace, Lasse Sorensen, Marcus McGuane, Leo Castledine, Dion Charles, Alfie May.
Huddersfield Town Women
Town Women have made a winning start to the new season, beating Doncaster Belles 3-0 in the league on Sunday then winning 3-2 away to Blackburn Rovers in the WNL Cup group stage on Wednesday night.
This Sunday, Town will return to league action with a tough test away to Cheadle Town Stingers, who were pipped to promotion on goal difference alone last season.
Donate to Walk4Pounds
While I’ve got you, just want to ask if you have two minutes and a few quid to spare for a very good cause. I’ll be taking part in the shorter 10-mile route for Walk for Denis in September, which culminates at Accu Stadium ahead of the League One clash with Burton Albion.
Organised by Huddersfield Town, the walk is raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Huddersfield Town Foundation in memory of the late, great Denis Law.
You can make a donation here - any amount gratefully received.
Even better, if you’re interested in signing up for the walk, details on how to sign up for the walk are here. Thanks!
