Huddersfield Town post loss in 2022/23 financial account
As expected, the end of parachute payments left the club in the red for the year despite significant player sales
Huddersfield Town’s accounts for 2022/23 have been published on Companies House, so it’s time for our annual trawl through the club’s finances to see what we can learn.
Before we proceed, a couple of important points to box off: remember that these accounts are effectively a snapshot of the club’s balance sheet on 30th June 2023. That’s not only a whole nine months ago, but happens to land just eight days after Kevin Nagle’s takeover of the club officially went through.
It’s therefore possible, if not likely, that the make-up of some sections of the accounts may have changed since then.
Some of you may also have noticed that David Threlfall-Sykes resigned from the board of directors last month (which was formally posted to Companies House alongside the accounts on Wednesday evening). However, he continues to work actively at the club; he’s simply not a board member anymore.
