Huddersfield Town fixtures 2025/26: Tricky runs identified as Terriers learn opponents
The EFL have released their fixtures for the upcoming season
Huddersfield Town will kick off the new season at home to Leyton Orient on Saturday 2nd August, and will conclude the season with a trip to newly-promoted Wimbledon.
Terriers fans may be pleased to learn they have an away trip to Blackpool in August, while the first West Yorkshire derby of the season will be played away to Bradford City in mid-September.
Town will be at home on Boxing Day as Darren Moore’s Port Vale come to Town’s newly-renamed Accu Stadium, with Northampton visiting Huddersfield three days later.
Easter features a visit from Reading on Good Friday and a trip to Leyton Orient on Easter Monday.
Town have meanwhile been drawn at home to Leicester City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The Terriers will also face Harrogate Town, Mansfield Town, and Newcastle United U21s in the group stage of the Vertu Trophy. Full fixtures and dates that competition are yet to be announced, but the first game of that competition will take place in week commencing 1st September. Last season, all the group stage games were played in the run-up to international dates.

Where are Huddersfield Town’s tough runs?
It’s always hard to say without knowing who’s going to be good and who isn’t…but the bookies’ odds offer at least some guide of who’s expected to be decent this season.
Looking at it now, Town’s worst run of the season unquestionably looks to be from the beginning of October to the middle of November, when they are scheduled to face Stockport, Luton, Bolton, Wycombe, Plymouth and Cardiff all in a row…although Town’s games against Luton and Cardiff could well end up being moved for international call-ups in the end.
With Town rated as fourth-favourites this season, that run potentially gives them six of the rest of the eight best-fancied sides to tackle all in a row.
Town’s spell towards the end of the season also looks fairly tough. They have Plymouth (a) and Cardiff (h) just before Easter (when they face Reading at home and Leyton Orient away), followed by Wycombe (h) and Bolton (a).
The flipside of all that, of course, is that on paper, Town’s opening run of fixtures look reasonably average, while their festive period looks especially generous.
Game’s not played on paper, though, is it…
