Huddersfield Town fixtures 2026/27 in full as tricky runs identified
The EFL have set the schedule for the new season, with the Terriers set to start their League On campaign at home to Wimbledon
Martin Drury will be hoping to pick up where he left off against Wimbledon as Huddersfield Town kick off the new League One campaign at home on Saturday 15th August.
The actual season opener will come in the Carabao Cup a week prior, with Town set to discover their opponents later on Thursday afternoon. The draw is set to begin at 4:30pm, live on Sky Sports News.
Town’s first away game will be a trip to newly-promoted MK Dons on Saturday 22nd August.
Town are at home on Boxing Day, against Blackpool; but there has been a slightly change of tack from the EFL in that the game on 29th December will be away to Stockport before Town go to Sheffield Wednesday on New Year’s Day.
Bizarrely, Town have the exact same Easter weekend fixtures as they did last season: Reading at home on Good Friday, and a trip to London to face Leyton Orient on Easter Monday.
Sky’s TV selections will be confirmed by the following dates:
By 2nd July: Up to the end of September
By 31st July: Up to and including the weekend of the FA Cup third round (weekend of 8th January)
By 6th November: Up to and including the midweek of 2nd March
From 5th February onwards: Weekly announcements four weeks ahead of time (starting on the weekend of 6th March), other than the penultimate weekend of the season, which will be announced three weeks in advance.
In the Vertu Trophy, Town have been drawn alongside Doncaster Rovers and Rochdale, and will discover their Category One academy opposition this afternoon. The draw is set to take place at 2:30pm live on Sky Sports News. Full fixtures and dates for the competition are yet to be announced, but the first game of the competition looks set to be played in week commencing 7th September.
