Huddersfield Town player ratings as Stockport snatch 96th minute win
The Terriers stood up to the dominant hosts but were unable to create much in attack as they once again dropped points late on
Lee Nicholls - 6
Came for crosses well and saved a couple of low drives from outside the box. Would need to see the late goal again to see if he might have been able to deal with that cross.
Radinio Balker - 6
On the right of the back three, but effectively operated as the right-back in a four at times when Lynden Gooch pushed forward to join the press. Was excellent defensively for 90-plus minutes but was caught out alongside Ruben Roosken on the late goal.
Joe Low - 8
Back in the side after his brief injury. Solid in the middle of the defence.
Murray Wallace - 9
Looked like he had let Kyle Wootton in for a real chance early on but reacted incredibly quickly and win the ball cleanly. Absolutely immense throughout the game — won every ball that came his way despite having big centre-forwards breathing down his neck.

Lynden Gooch - 6
Was up and down the right as he helped out the forward in the press before getting back to slot in on the right of the defence. Went about his defensive duties as best he could under heavy pressure from Stockport, but gave the ball away needlessly several times and his final ball was lacking on the rare occasions Town got him on the ball in advanced areas.
Ryan Ledson - 6
Battled well in midfield and helped defend the box well.
Cameron Humphreys - 6
Straight into the side for his debut, playing what seemed to be a deep-lying playmaker role on the ball but pressing higher off the ball. Had a quiet first half but was more involved in the second half with several good defensive moments around his own box and good composure on the ball to help Town play out. Better physicality than his size would suggest.
Marcus Harness - 5
Played further forward in the role vacated by Leo Castledine’s departure. That meant we saw little of him on the ball with Town under pressure throughout his time on the pitch.
Ruben Roosken - 5
Did well in his running battle with Stockport winger Jayden Fevrier and made a number of blocks to stop him from crossing or getting into the box. Had very few opportunities to get forward. Like Gooch, had some less than impressive moments on the ball. Didn’t challenge for the ball at the back post as Stockport got their late winner.
Dion Charles - 4
In for the absent Alfie May. Decent enough off the ball but made several runs in behind from offside positions to stop Town attacks dead in their tracks. Unable to do anything with a rebound that came back it him quickly off Bojan Radulovic’s shot midway through the second half.
Bojan Radulovic - 6
Picked up a knock nine minutes in but was able to continue. Made a few good defensive interventions in his own half, including a particularly good tackle one on the edge of the Town box. Put a header wide for Town’s only real chance of the first half and had a shot well blocked from close range after the break. May have been able to do more to stop the cross for the late goal.

Will Alves (for Harness 69) - Made his long-awaited return from injury. Made a difference with his dynamism and trickery and unlucky not to get an assist for a chance he made for Radulovic. 7
Joe Taylor (for Charles 87) - On for his first appearance in over a month. n/a
Unused substitutes: Jak Alnwick, Josh Feeney, Lasse Sorensen, David Kasumu, Mickel Miller.
