Huddersfield Town player ratings as Exeter claim late draw at Accu Stadium
The Terriers looked to be on course for victory until the visitors claimed a late equaliser in a frustrating 2-2 draw at Accu Stadium
Lee Nicholls - 7
Soundly beaten by a fantastic strike as Exeter swiftly equalised for 1-1. Made a good stop with his feet just before half time to keep Town 2-1 up, and showed great awareness to rush out and smother Jayden Wareham’s shot after being sold short by Josh Feeney’s header back to him. Unable to get down quickly enough to stop Wareham’s flick into the bottom corner.
Radinio Balker - 7
Calm and assured defensive performance. Broke past his man to kickstart the move from which Town scored their second goal. Blocked a Carlos Mendes Gomes shot from close range midway through the second half. Generally good performance but was not alert to Wareham’s presence on Exeter’s second goal.
Murray Wallace - 6
Started as the centremost defender but moved to the left of the back three for the second half. Unable to stop Sonny Cox from getting in up the right on the way to Exeter’s second goal
Sean Roughan - 6
Forward-looking with his passing, to mixed results, but did succeed with some useful balls up the left side. Went down injured on 35 minutes and had to be replaced at the break.

Cameron Ashia - 6
Into the side at right wing-back for only the second league start of his career. Typically energetic and probing in attack. Didn’t always get his final ball right but did when he teed up Bojan Radulovic to restore Town’s lead just before the break.
Marcus Harness - 8
Started the game superbly and deserved his well-taken goal as he put a disguised shot into the bottom corner from just outside the box — his first league goal for the club. Ran the game in the first half and a little bit quieter in the second as Town dug in, but did plenty of good defending.
David Kasumu - 8
Took on the defensive midfield role in place of Ryan Ledson. Has needed a bit of time to warm up into games recently but looked good from the off here, making numerous interceptions and helping Town get on the attack swiftly with his work on the ball. Stopped a couple of counter-attacks by working hard to get back and make an intervention.
Leo Castledine - 6
Claimed another assist on Harness’ goal, much as it was a simple onward pass inside.
Lynden Gooch - 7
Started at left wing-back. Beat his man on multiple occasions and played a part in a few dangerous-looking moves up the left. A big miss after he went off.
Alfie May - 5
Pressed well against a side that likes to build the play out from the back. Floated a bit between the centre-forward and number 10 spaces. Not quite able to make his efforts on goal amount to anything, including a shot from the halfway line that caught the keeper of his line but ran wide.
Bojan Radulovic - 7
Had a decent effort on goal deflected narrowly wide at the end of a counter-attack just after the half-hour mark. Could scarcely miss after making a great run to the back post to finish off Ashia’s ball across the face of goal.
Substitutes
Josh Feeney (for Roughan 46) - Made his return from injury at the break and took over in the middle of the back three. Made a crucial sliding block to stop a goalbound Cole strike after he got free at a corner, but nearly cost Town a goal with an ill-judged header back to Nicholls that nearly let Wareham in to score. Too late getting over to Wareham on the equaliser. 5
Ben Wiles (for Castledine 60) - Fresh legs in that channel up the left, but wasteful with the ball whenever he got forward. 4
Lasse Sorensen (for Gooch 74) - Took over at left wing-back. Could have done more to stop the build-up to the late equaliser. 5
Dion Charles (for Radulovic 74) - Sent on to bring fresh intensity to the press, which he did. Unable to affect the game on the ball. 5
Ryan Ledson (for Harness 86) - n/a
Unused substitutes: Owen Goodman, Will Alves.
