Huddersfield Town player ratings as Terriers blow Rotherham away in first half
Lynden Gooch scored the opener before setting up goals for Bojan Radulovic and Leo Castledine as Lee Grant's side ended their winless run with a 3-1 victory
Lee Nicholls - 6
Had a bit of a let-off early on when he got nowhere near an in-swinging corner and Joe Rafferty tucked it away, but the whistle went again Marvin Kaleta for giving Ryan Ledson a big hug. Didn’t have a huge amount else to do. Better distribution than usual. Beaten by a powerful Sam Nombe strike in injury time
Radinio Balker - 6
More no-nonsense than usual, which was to his benefit. Took a clearance in the face late on and needed a moment to recover, but was OK. Went up for a header that had Joe Low’s name written all over it late on as Rotherham got their consolation strike.
Joe Low - 8
Notably more committed with his work and won everything that went his way and consistently got the better of big Jordan Hugill — comfortably the best we’ve seen from him this season. More of this please. Seemed to be having his shirt pulled on the way to the Rotherham goal but the officials were letting those go all day for some reason.
Murray Wallace - 8
Played his part in the back line by matching his teammates’ consistently performances. Heading and clearing machine. Got a big olé for pulling off a Cruyff turn in the second half, which was nice.

Lynden Gooch - 9
Opened the scoring with a run into the box to finish off Bojan Radulovic’s lay-off. Returned the favour with a early raking pass intended for Alfie May but which ran through to Radulovic. Put in the left-footed cross from which Leo Castledine glanced home the third just before the break. Picked up a booking that may have influenced Lee Grant’s decision to remove him.
Marcus Harness - 7
Was able to get up the right wing more than we have generally seen from him in that central midfield role.
Ryan Ledson - 8
Like the rest of his defensive colleagues, looked far more up for the task and nipped in to break up play between the lines of multiple occasions.
Sean Roughan - 7
Had a good first half both on and off the ball and remained solid through to the end.
Leo Castledine - 8
Deserved his goal just before half time after putting in another dangerously dynamic performance, including the pass that put Radulovic in to create the opener. Great sliding tackle to keep Town on the attack on the way to his fifth goal in six outings. Went down hurt off the ball just before the hour and was taken off — hopefully precautionary.
Alfie May - 7
Tireless work rate and received a rapturous reception on his way off the pitch. Plenty of good centre-forward running and caused positional problems for Rotherham.
Bojan Radulovic - 8
Restored to the starting line-up and more than justified it. Brilliant run and takedown on his way to teeing up Gooch’s strike, and an even better take to put a first-time lob over Cameron Dawson. Superb with his hold-up play throughout the game.

Lasse Sorensen (for Gooch 74) - n/a
Dion Charles (for May 74) - Tried to catch the keeper off guard with his first touch after Radulovic’s run through on goal was smothered, but denied by a save with feet. n/a
