Huddersfield Town player ratings as ten-man Stockport beat Terriers
The visitors scored either side of being reduced to ten men before Bojan Radulovic headed home a late consolation
Lee Nicholls - 7
Had mostly routine shots to save but did them all as he needed to, including a one v one. Was sent the wrong way by Ollie Norwood’s penalty and absolutely no chance on Odin Bailey’s strike.
Lasse Sorensen - 7
Solid outing, albeit without a huge amount of opportunity to get forward. Bit surprised to see him make way for Lynden Gooch.
Josh Feeney - 6
Let Beyony Andresson get in behind him ten minutes in, but made up for it by making a clean tackle inside the box as he bore down on Nicholls. Made another important challenge on on the same opponent moments later, and continued in that vein throughout a very good first half with numerous important tackles and interceptions. Ponderous on the ball late on when Town really needed more urgency, and caught out in an individual battle to let Stockport in to double their lead.
Joe Low - 3
Had a solid first half in the floor and in the air, but naive to give the referee a decision to make by pulling Brad Hills’ shirt right on the stroke of half time and hand Stockport their penalty. It’s a dive, but it’s also a foul. Didn’t deal with Odin Bailey at all as he ran straight into the box and fired home Stockport’s second. Looked to have lost his head towards the end of the game.
Ruben Roosken - 7
Excellent throughout the first half, winning seemingly every tackle he went in for and always keen to try and get Town on the front foot as quickly as possible. Superb challenge to stop Jack Diamond getting one-on-one with Nicholls on the counter-attack midway through the second half.

Ryan Ledson - 5
Had license to get forward with Kasumu taking on a more conservative role. Did at least help get Town into some promising positions that were then squandered.
David Kasumu - 4
Seemed to have a man marking job on Jack Diamond. A bit up and down: not great first 15-20, better for much of the rest of the first half. Naturally had a lot more space to drive into with the ball after Stockport were reduced to ten men, but was heavy with his touch at times and perhaps could have done more to help out Low on the second goal.
Marcus Harness - 6
The best and brightest of Town’s attacking players in the first half, working hard off the ball and providing a really good outlet when Town looked to get forward.
Ben Wiles - 5
Had a strike deflected narrowly wide at the end of a Town counter in the first few minutes. Played some great balls through or over the Stockport defence when dropping into deeper positions.
Leo Castledine - 3
Booked in the first half seemingly for asking for an opponent to be booked. Had one of his quiet and frustrating games as he couldn’t quite pull of what he was trying to do and was caught in possession a couple of times. Did draw the foul that earned Tyler Onyango his second yellow card. Looked worn out by about the 70th minute, and applied a lazy finish to Town’s best chance of the game, putting a tame effort straight at the keeper.
Alfie May - 4
Finished the game with no real chances to speak of, despite constantly being on the move and trying to make things happen. Ended up forced wide more than he would have liked. Did the first hour or so at centre-forward before switching to the Harness role after Bojan Radulovic came on. Created that Castledine chance, but that’s about all there is to speak of.
Substitutes
Lynden Gooch (for Sorensen 63) - Showed some understandable signs of rustiness on the ball. Lost a crucial 50/50 as Stockport went through to score their second goal. Blazed a late strike over the bar off a half-cleared corner, but great corner delivery for Radulovic’s goal. 5
Bojan Radulovic (for Harness 63) - Went on at centre-forward and headed home his one and only chance in injury time. 7
Joe Taylor (for Castledine 87) - A substitution about 20 minutes overdue. n/a
Unused substitutes: Owen Goodman, Sean Roughan, Dan Vost, Cameron Ashia.
