Huddersfield Town player ratings from entertaining draw at Crawley
The Terriers twice had to come from behind with Rhys Healey and Herbie Kane providing the equalisers
Jacob Chapman - 6
No real chance with either Crawley goal, both of which were curled beyond his reach to the far corners. Steady away.
Matty Pearson - 5
Didn’t have a great start to the game but seemed to be settling into it before his failure to nick it on halfway opened the pitch up for Crawley to exploit and take the lead. Better after the break.
Tom Lees - 6
Captained the side again in Jonathan Hogg’s absence. Fine performance, went off late on for the returning Michal Helik.
Nigel Lonwijk - 5
Good solid game on the whole but unfortunately switched off at the crucial moment as Crawley restored their lead in the second half, which took a considerable shine off his performance. Finished the game playing at left-back.
Brodie Spencer - 6
Felt he had to go flying into a challenge on Rushian Hepburn-Murphy as he raced onto a through ball, but failed to win the tackle and the Crawley man was able to go clean through on Chapman to score. Would like to see it again to see whether he had any other option; if not, we owe him an extra mark for an otherwise good showing. Smart little chested lay-off for Kane to make it 2-2 and finished the game well.
David Kasumu - 7
Had to get back to deal with numerous counter-attacks and won his battles well in the middle. Replaced late on having given everything as usual.
Herbie Kane - 8
Restored to central midfield as Town return to 3-4-1-2 and put in an excellent performance both on and off the ball. Richly deserved his goal.
Mickel Miller - 7
Wing-back as usual on the ball, but moved into central midfield off the ball to keep Panutche Camara in check. Excellent first half as he looked a threat and put in some promising low balls in the first half, but started to rush things after the break with his crossing suffering as a result for a spell. Got back into it after that.
Ben Wiles - 7
Back at number 10 from the start. Impressive defensive shift on the right wing of Town’s press. Had a shot from point blank range charged down and saved late in the first half. Perfect corner delivery for Rhys Healey’s goal as Town made it 1-1 and kept working hard to try and make things happen from the right wing after the change to a 4-4-2.
Bojan Radulovic - 4
Another of those games for Radulovic, which makes it a bit of a string off them recently: right ideas, execution lacking.
Callum Marshall - 4
Made numerous interceptions all over the pitch, but offered little to nothing on the ball and was again sacrificed at the break in favour of Rhys Healey.
Substitutes
Rhys Healey (for Marshall 46) - Made the desired impact by getting the equaliser with a clever run to the near post to flick in Wiles’ well-delivered corner. 7
Josh Koroma (for Radulovic 63) - Returned from a month out with a back injury. Ironically got the two chances Town would have wanted Radulovic to have: both headers, neither receiving the required connection, though the second did need tipping over the bar after bouncing into the ground. Bright enough effort more generally. 5
Tom Iorpenda (for Kasumu 72) - Entrusted with the closing stages of the game alongside Kane in a 4-4-2 and got stuck in. 6
Michal Helik (for Lees 83) - Made a welcome return from injury. n/a
Unused substitutes: Chris Maxwell, Jaheim Headley, Ollie Turton.
