Huddersfield Town player ratings from 1-1 draw with Bristol City
David Kasumu was the standout player for Darren Moore's side once again as Delano Burgzorg's opener was cancelled out by Tommy Conway's effort
Chris Maxwell - 7
Retained in the starting line-up after his recent run of good form, despite Lee Nicholls’ return to the squad. Forced into action twice in the first few minutes and had to stop a deflected cross from swerving past him shortly before the break. Nothing he could do for the goal.
Matty Pearson - 7
Tried to be more precise with his work on the ball, to his credit, but efforts to do so ironically contributed to Bristol City’s equaliser as he was caught off-guard after his forward ball into midfield was cut out. One of those things, rather than an error, and was generally good. Harshly booked for less than some of what Bristol City subjected poor David Kasumu to.
Michal Helik - 7
Beaten to Weimann’s cross by Tommy Conway as the visitors equalised. Generally solid outing though, throwing himself into the path of every Bristol City long shot.
Tom Lees - 6
Wasn’t quite sure what to do about attacking midfielder Jason Knight in the early going, which didn’t help out with Jaheim Headley’s abortive efforts to contain Bristol City up that side. Soon got to grips with it, though, and backed himself to do so.
Josh Koroma - 7
Started at right wing-back with Sorba Thomas suspended and Ben Jackson injured. It’s a credit to him that he can now be entrusted that kind of disciplined role out of position, which he performed well - and was a show of attacking intent by Darren Moore. Finished the game up top alongside Burgzorg, where he got few opportunities to influence things.
David Kasumu - 8
Great interception and forward drive on his way to setting up Delano Burgzorg’s goal midway through the first half. That exemplified how important he was, once again, in helping Town get out of their own half. Was absolutely battered by Bristol City players throughout the second half in a clear targeted campaign designed to lessen his influence, but admirably kept going despite showing the effects.
Jonathan Hogg - 5
Unable to spread the play as much as he would like in horribly blustery conditions that rendered longer balls unreliable. Unusually sloppy on the ball even with shorter passes though - has had plenty of better games.
Ben Wiles - 5
Made his return from injury to complete the midfield trio. Had some tidy exchanges but looks a little short on confidence and needs to be more willing to take calculated risks with his passing and movement.
Jaheim Headley - 4
Had a really dreadful start to the game, altogether failing to deal with Mark Sykes and making rash decisions on the ball. Did have some brighter moments in amongst it, and was far less erratic after the break.
Danny Ward - 6
Showed far more sharpness off the ball this week after an understandably subdued showing on his return to the starting line-up last weekend. Nearly scored by chasing down a kick out by the goalkeeper in the first half and played a nice ball over the top for Burgzorg from which Town should have been awarded a penalty in the second half.
Delano Burgzorg - 7
Started alongside Ward for the first time since their only previous outing as a pair, away to West Brom all the way back at the beginning of September. Played with real verve for a while after scoring the opener and should have earned Town a penalty for handball had the officials spotted it. Grew increasingly anonymous thereafter.

Brahima Diarra (for Wiles 65) - Struggled to impose himself at first but was just growing by the time the final whistle blew. 5
Rarmani Edmonds-Green (for Ward 72) - Took over at right wing-back with Koroma moving up front. Unnecessarily poor on the ball but mostly fine off it. 4
Josh Austerfield (for Koroma 90+1) - n/a
Subs not used: Lee Nicholls, Loick Ayina, Tom Edwards, Yuta Nakayama, Tom Iorpenda, Michael Stone.
