Huddersfield Town player ratings as Stockport fight back to victory
Josh Koroma put the Terriers ahead in an entertaining second half but Stockport rallied to come from behind and win 2-1, mathematically ending any remaining hopes of a top six miracle for Town
Lee Nicholls - 7
Made two impressive stops in quick succession midway through the first half and another from point-blank range in the second half. Kicking really poor even for him, though. No chance of getting to Fraser Horsfall’s equaliser and sent the wrong way for the penalty.
Ollie Turton - 7
On the right of what was mostly a back three. Stopped a Stockport break with the result still in the balance and played a great late through ball for Joe Taylor that ende
Matty Pearson - 5
Finished the game battered and bruised after a robust showing. Typified Town’s much more competitive and physical approach, but took it too far with the unnecessary shove that gave Stockport their penalty having been caught for pace a few times beforehand. Beaten to a late header that came back off the post.
Brodie Spencer - 8
Straight back into the starting line-up after his injury, and put in a superb showing on the left of the back three with numerous important challenges around the edge of the box.

David Kasumu - 7
Played a fluid role that switched between right wing-back and the right of what amounted to a midfield diamond at times. Played a part in a few of Town’s better moves in the second half and went close to opening the scoring at the end of an excellent run into the box. Superb recovery tackle to stop a Stockport counter-attack.
Jonathan Hogg - 6
Had some poor moments on the ball but generally did a decent job playing at the base of the Town midfield.
Antony Evans - 4
Played to Hogg’s left. Didn’t make a huge impact on the game.
Josh Ruffels - 7
Dealt well with the Stockport threat up his flank.
Ben Wiles - 4
Back to a number 10 role. Wasn’t in the game nearly as much as we would like and wasted a brilliant opening late on with the score at 1-1, taking too long to decide what to do with the final ball at the end of a Town break.
Dion Charles - 7
Physical showing, and linked really well with his attacking colleagues, including creating Josh Koroma’s opener.
Josh Koroma - 7
A lot of hard work to win loose balls and pressure defenders. Often had the right ideas but was unable to execute them successfully throughout the first half. Grew in confidence as the game went on, however, playing a brilliant ball for Kasumu’s chance then finding the bottom corner with a great finish a few minutes later.
