Huddersfield Town player ratings as Terriers throw away three points in injury time against Bolton
Huddersfield were moving into fourth place after 90 minutes but conceded twice in time added on
Lee Nicholls - 6
Got across well to save after 12 minutes having had nothing else to do. Stood up well again later in the first half after another period of inaction. Made another sharp but routine save on the hour and dealt well with the occasional task thrown at him. Possible question mark over Bolton’s winner.
Lynden Gooch - 7
Replaced Lasse Sorensen. Characteristically brave in possession, willing to play the challenging pass and usually effective with it. Limitless physicality out of possession, even in the Bolton half. Generally a really good performance but was susceptible to getting turned when in close contact. Not shy about committing a good foul.
Josh Feeney - 6
Tidy technical defending on the cover throughout the first half but the full-backs had Feeney and Joe Low well protected. Tremendous tackle to deal with a loose ball shortly before the break and grew into a good performance at the back until he was taught a lesson by one of the best headers of a ball in League One for the late equaliser.
Joe Low - 6
Asserted his defensive dominance early in the air and on the ground. All-round assured and mature display, and all but spotless aerially. Stood up superbly in the early minutes of the second half to deal with Mason Burstow one-on-one.
Ruben Roosken - 8
Capped a fine start on and off the ball with the corner delivery that made the opener for Leo Castledine. Picked Taylor out with a fabulous diagonal pass in the middle of the first half. When he’s efficient in possession as well as a threat, he’s a real problem for the opposition. Always willing to put a foot in during a formidable physical display.

Ryan Ledson - 5
Offered valuable protection and guidance to a young central defensive pairing. On the ball infrequently before the break but able to locate the players ahead of him with some clever passing. A quiet game in terms of possession in midfield for both Ledson and David Kasumu but the captain certainly made his presence felt in other ways.
David Kasumu - 5
Added dynamism on the ball in the middle and got forward before the half-hour to win a free kick in a dangerous position, but needed help from Roosken more than once.
Ben Wiles - 5
Outstanding through ball to pick out Joe Taylor after 25 minutes but the striker was unable to collect it. Had a couple of opportunities to feed Roosken on the overlap after driving in-field but focused instead on playing the way he was facing. Not as involved as the players around him, nor the quality of outlet they provided.
Leo Castledine - 7
Scored the opening goal from a corner in the seventh minute, his fourth of the season. Willing to take a risk to try and beat a man at pace and get in behind. Put in an impressive but not spectacular performance, helping to keep Town motoring on the right and scoring a crucial goal.
Alfie May - 7
Selected in place of Marcus Harness after Stockport defeat and slotted into the 10. Sweetly struck volley from an early corner was goal-bound but inadvertently blocked by Taylor, and forced a save from 20 yards with five minutes left in the first half. Happy to do the defensive work in the Town half.
Joe Taylor - 6
65 minutes of constant graft on the press, egged on by his manager. Town looking to play him in early but the position of Bolton’s goalkeeper thwarted it more often than not. Never got a chance between the posts. Booked for slapping the ball away to delay a Bolton throw-in in the first half.
Substitutes
Marcus Harness (for Castledine 65) - Immediately involved and linking play. A solid contribution but primarily a case of keeping the ball. 5
Dion Charles (for Taylor 65) - Come on and work hard would have been the brief and that’s exactly what he did. 5
Mickel Miller (for Wiles 74) - On for his first appearance since August. 5
Sean Roughan (for Roosken 82) - Late substitution at 1-0. N/A
Unused substitutes: Owen Goodman, Lasse Sorensen, Dan Vost
