Huddersfield Town Women ‘hugely disappointed’ not to beat Stockport County
Manager Glen Preston expressed disbelief that the Terriers failed to secure three points
Despite going ahead, Huddersfield Town Women ended their final 2024 fixture with a point, drawing 1-1 at Stockport County. Autumn Housley claimed her first league goal of the season with a near post finish, but Town were only in the lead for four minutes.
Glen Preston said: “We are hugely disappointed because we feel like we have done enough to come away with three points.
“The first half was reasonably even… In the second half, we more or less completely dominated. Barring a couple of counter attacks and long balls in behind, which we dealt with reasonably well, I genuinely don’t think Stockport had more than one shot on goal in the entire 90 minutes.”
Preston’s assumption is correct. Stockport’s sole shot on target was the equaliser.
Housley added: “It was nice to eventually get on the scoresheet. I feel like I put a bit of a grind in, so it was nice to get the reward at the end of it.
