Huddersfield Town Women player ratings from late 1-0 loss against Durham
A late 35-yard strike meant that Glen Preston's side lose their first league game of 2025
Kacey Bolton-Woollam - 6
Back in net for the first time in 2025. Will be disappointed that her contact on Lucy Noble’s strike wasn’t enough to keep the ball out of her net.
Rebecca Beresford - 6
Delivered some fantastic crosses in to the box in the first half. Looks to enjoy playing as an offensive full-back, allowing her to capitalise on the acres of space she often finds in front of her. Played on both sides of the back four.
Serena Fletcher - 7
Did incredibly well to clear a ball over the top with an outstretched leg. Consistent in the back line despite all three other positions rotating throughout. Her calmness in tricky situations holds high value for the team.
Autumn Housley - 7
Clinical in her attempts to win the ball. Strong aerial presence. Started on the the left of the two central defenders, moved to right back in the second half. Excellent in both roles.
Yasmin Mason - 7
Plenty of miles covered up and down the left all afternoon. Began to look tired in the second half due to the amount of work that she had put in. Came off after 60 minutes.
Ella Duffield - 7
No issues picking up the ball from her defence in tight areas. Able to spin in to the midfield and get Town’s through the thirds. Replaced after an hour after putting a shift in.
Beth Stanfield - 6
Key in breaking down the Durham play when they ventured forward. Began to dictate play more as the second half went on.
Charlotte Stuart - 7
Enforcer in the opposition box. Had two early chances, connecting with a Housley flick on and Mallin cross, but both were denied by the goalkeeper. Should really have found the net when the ball fortuitously fell to her at the back from a Beresford cross, thanks to a mistimed Astle strike, but it was a case of one too many touches.
Leah Embley - 7
Had a clear desire to cause havoc down the right wing, latching on to balls over the Durham back line. On another day she probably comes away with a goal and assist, just not today.
Katie Astle - 7
The centre piece of Town’s forward play. An impressive target with her back to goal, with the skill to easily receive the ball and move her team in to the next transition of attack.
Kate Mallin - 7
Often sliding to an inside forward role, allowing Mason to overlap, remained efficient on the ball. Holding and moving when necessary. Had free kick in the second half where she should have tested the keeper more than she did.
