Huddersfield Town Women player ratings from deadlock draw against Chorley
Town draw at home for the first time since 1-1 draw against Barnsley in September
Kacey Bolton-Woollam - 8
Not her busiest afternoon in terms of shot stopping but made a couple of important stops when required. One in particular was a sharp save low to her left to keep the game goalless, and then she flew across the goal to make an incredible save with the last action of the game.
Serena Fletcher - 7
Overlapped on the right when Jones tucked inside. Crucially blocked a shot on goal that was certain to find the net. Got a great opportunity late on but dragged her shot too far wide.
Autumn Housley - 7
Made an important block to deny Newhouse a shot on goal. Knocked some fantastic balls over the Chorley back line to release Fletcher and Jones. Solid all game.
Beth Ibbotson- 7
Captain in the absence of Stanfield. Headed, blocked and cleared the majority of action that came her way. Deserved the clean sheet.
Rebecca Beresford - 7
Didn’t get forward as much as we have seen recently. For good reason too, as she was up against a good Chorley side and had to be at her best defensively to keep things under control.
Fliss Jones - 7
First start for Town. Looked confident in one-on-one situations. Flicked the ball over the head of the Chorley left back and bursted past her. A positive first proper outing.
Ella Duffield - 6
Balanced the midfield alongside Simone. Does a lot of the work that goes unseen, especially with her discipline positionally.
Caz Simone - 8
Full of confidence off the back of last week’s performance at York City. Played the game at their own pace, unfazed by the busy midfield surrounding them. Has the ability to take full control in the centre of the park, whether it is a feint one way or dropping the shoulder the other way.
Yasmin Mason - 6
Worked her way down the left a fair few times but the quality of her crossing into the box didn’t match her impressive effort levels. Had a chance to put Town ahead, picking up her rebounded cross and cutting inside, but her right footed shot flew high and wide of the goal.
Kate Mallin - 6
Played a sort of free role, appearing all over the field. Roamed around, moving the ball through the thirds, before coming off in the last quarter of an hour.
Katie Astle - 6
Was probably dropping deeper at points, hoping to be more involved in play. When she did pick up the ball she was a clear threat. Linked up well with Mallin. Tirelessly pressed the Chorley backline, regardless of whether it was possible to win the ball or not.
