Huddersfield Town Women player ratings after FA Cup defeat at Sunderland
The Terriers are out of the cup following a 4-0 defeat up north
Kacey Bolton-Woollam - 9
Sharp off her line in difficult conditions. Made all kinds of saves, high and low, to keep the scoreline down. Save after save, all afternoon. Impressive display, earning the respect of the home fans.
Ria Montgomery - 6
Rotated well with Housley on the right of Town’s defence. Can hold her head high for dealing with the width of Sunderland’s attacks. Pushed further forward in the last 10 minutes.
Autumn Housley - 7
A gutsy performance from the defender. She threw her body in front of everything, heading the ball clear on multiple occasions.
Charlotte Stuart - 6
Began the game in the centre of a back three when the wind was against Town. Moved into a more recognisable attacking midfield position in the second half.
Beth Ibbotson - 6
Dealt with Sunderland’s front line as well as could be expected, winning the ball back on multiple occasions. No shame in her defensive display.
Serena Fletcher - 6
Left back for the day. Moved inside to help out her central defenders when necessary.
Kate Mallin - 6
Started on Town’s right, then moved to the left in the second half. Wasn’t able to use her forward delivery because Sunderland always had at least two players on her tail.
Beth Stanfield - 6
Solid display in midfield. Had to play ugly at points in an attempt to get Town further up the field.
Caz Simone - 6
Put in some hard yards pressing Sunderland’s impressive midfield movement. Their first start in over two months.
Rebecca Beresford - 6
Couldn’t get as far forward as she would have hoped, but her speed in transition allowed her to get up there from time to time.
Yasmin Mason - 6
Had the thankless task of chasing after all of Town’s long balls forward. There was a brief moment in the first half when she managed to get in behind. However, her shot was rushed and the ball went over the bar.
