Huddersfield Town Women player ratings from secure 9-0 victory against Handsworth
Town go into the hat for the next round of the County Cup after breezing past Handsworth at home
Lauren Joyce - 7
Untroubled defensively. Had minimal time with the ball at her feet but used it responsibly.
Serena Fletcher - 7
Felt comfortable pushing higher on the right. Not too much to do, whipped a couple of decent crosses in. Basically a right winger in the second half, assisting Mallin for Town’s seventh.
Beth Stanfield - 7
Took some cracking set-pieces with no Kate Mallin on the field. A true ball-playing centre back, moving the ball around with ease. Came off at half time.
Beth Ibbotson- 7
Back in the starting eleven. Strong defensive showing. Scored Town’s eighth with a header.
Rebecca Beresford - 8
Knew exactly when to hold her run to stay onside. When the ball did reach her out on the left, she used her pace to push past defenders and deliver into the box. Evidence; Town’s fourth goal, she went down the left and slid the ball across for Stuart to score. Got on the scoresheet, arriving into the box in the second phase of an attack and blasting it in to the top right corner.
Autumn Housley - 7
Fit into the midfield with ease. Didn’t look out of place in there, and could easily play that role further down the line.
Caz Simone - 8
Gutted for Caz. Absolutely everywhere, finding pockets of space on the left and right of midfield. Constantly moving the ball forward, finding her team mates runs in behind. Had to be replaced after 30 minutes with what looked like a potential ankle injury.
Charlotte Stuart - 7
Have seen her busier this season, but still managed to add to her goal tally this season. Weaved into the box to open herself up for Beresford’s cross, which she calmly hit beyond the goalkeeper.
Ashley Tiripke - 9
Can’t complain with a first half hat-trick. The first, the ball dropped to her in the six-yard box after a neat move from a corner, tucking it away with her left foot. The second, forced the Handsworth defence into making an error, allowing her to loop a header over the goalkeeper and into the net. The third, showed composure to sit the goalkeeper down, roll it beyond her wit her right foot, and complete her hat-trick, a perfect one. Oh by the way, she also got a fourth in the second half, connecting with a Katie Astle cross.
Scarlett McMahon - 7
Played the first half up front, moved to centre back after half time. The phrase ‘can do it at both ends’ comes to mind, but she played the majority of her game at one end.
Molly Firth - 8
Had two early opportunities that should have resulted in more, doing really well to get into a dangerous area but lacking the finishing touch. Hit the bar with a strike from the edge of the box. Scored late on to get Town’s ninth. On another day she scores three.

Kate Mallin (for Stuart 61) - Scored off the back of a low driven Fletcher cross. Not the cleanest of strikes but it still went in. 7
Leah Embley (for Tiripke 61) - Lobbed the goalkeeper, leaving everyone left stood watching the ball which hit the inside of the post and came out. 6
