Huddersfield Town Women player ratings from disappointing 2-2 draw at Norton & Stockton
Glen Preston's side lost a two goal lead in the North East, as they still search for their first league win of 2025
Kacey Bolton-Woollam - 5
Unable to keep a hold of Bianca Owens fiercely struck free kick, the ball fell to the feet of the Norton & Stockton player who was following it in to score. Can’t be blamed for conceding a penalty.
Molly Firth - 6
Found herself at right back, not her usual role on the wing, often tucking inside to a falseback position. Sometimes needs one touch to many when the ball needs to move quickly.
Serena Fletcher - 7
Booked early on for an alleged poke to Bianca Owens eye - soft. Unfortunate to be punished for handball, resulting in the equalising penalty. Other than that, got every single tackle perfect.
Autumn Housley- 6
Also received a yellow for stopping a counter attack in the first half - again, not sure. Stood up to the task of dealing with Owens. Not afraid to carry the ball herself and get Town playing. Will be thankful that Owens skyed her chance to win it after nicking it off her.
Yasmin Mason - 7
Built herself into the game. Did exceptionally well to beat the opposition down the left and slide the ball across the six yard box for Charlotte Stuart to score. Continued her impressive work rate throughout.
Ella Duffield - 6
Busy in a midfield zone where it was a scrap for everything. Found more space as the game went on but often lacked options when attempting to play it into the final third.
Caz Simone - 7
Dropped between the two centre backs, allowing Town’s fullbacks to push higher up the pitch. Remained reasonably level headed when the midfield battle became a bit of a slugfest. Delivered a perfect ball towards Stuart for Town’s second goal.
Charlotte Stuart - 8
In the right place at the right time to get her name on the scoresheet, finding the net at the back post. A combative display, winning plenty of headers in a game with a lot of possession turnover. Got her second with a towering header in the box in the second phase of play.
Leah Embley - 6
Had moments down the right where she was able to produce a ball into the box, but a lot of Town’s attacks went down the left. Had more impact in the second half, just didn’t manage to open up a shooting chance.
Katie Astle - 6
Dropped a little deeper to provide an option for the midfielders who were getting crowded out at points. In the rights areas when the ball came into the box, just nothing found her path.
Kate Mallin - 7
Clearly comfortable, linking up with the overlapping Mason, but also carrying the ball herself. Could have backed herself for a shot when an opportunity opened up late in the first half but opted to pass instead.
