Huddersfield Town Women ratings from late 2-1 loss at Cheadle Town Stingers
A first-half own goal put Town ahead before Cheadle fought back in the second half and claimed a heartbreaking 90th-minute winner
Bethan Davies - 7
Saved a penalty in the 55th minute to keep the score at 1-1 and performed well throughout despite being tested several times. Unable to keep out the 90th-minute winner.
Rebecca Beresford - 7
Very strong performance. Wanted to be on the ball as much as possible and made a difference to Town’s build-up play.
Beth Stanfield - 6
Put in a few decent tackles early on and kept the back line well-organised when the full-backs pushed forward.
Beth Ibbotson - 7
Had a second-half header cleared off the line before Burgess’s follow-up header was tipped away by the keeper. Did well at the back against tough opposition.
Autumn Housley - 7
Great tackle to stop the Cheadle counter-attack in the first half. Strong performer in this match for Town. Unfortunate to lose her footing in the 90th minute as Cheadle got their winner.
Ella Duffield - 6
Kept things ticking over in the midfield. She became less involved in the second half as the game became more direct.
Alise Gindra - 6
Solid performance and constantly had looked to get on ball throughout the match.
Kate Mallin - 7
Forced the early opener with a superb set-piece delivery that forced Cheadle’s own goal.
Louise Biggins - 6
Played as a shadow striker. Attempted to feed the ball to Jones throughout but was often crowded out.
Hannah Burgess - 7
Fought for the ball and played well throughout. Unfortunate to see a header well tipped away by the Cheale keeper.
Felicity Jones - 7
Strong start and showed her intent right from the first minute, setting Town up for a confident first-half showing. Kept up her performance throughout the game, proving a threat to Cheadle’s defence in the second half.
