Lasse Sorensen scouting report as Huddersfield Town eye first signing
The Lincoln City wing-back has been linked to the John Smith's Stadium
Huddersfield Town have been linked with a transfer move for Lincoln City’s Lasse Sorensen.
A versatile former Danish youth international who can play several midfield and wide roles, 24-year-old Sorensen has predominantly featured as a right wing-back. Sorensen topped Lincoln’s assist charts last season by setting up eight goals in 44 League One appearances, on top of scoring four himself.
Here’s what Town would be getting if they can seal a deal to bring Sorensen to the John Smith’s Stadium.
Lasse Sorensen career to date
Sorensen came through the ranks at Stoke City, making his senior debut in 2018. He made just a handful of Premier League and Championship appearances before being sent out on loan to MK Dons in 2020/21, where he played alongside current Town players David Kasumu and Lee Nicholls.
A permanent move to Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee followed in summer 2021. Since then, Sorensen has played an increasingly prominent role in the side.
Sorensen’s performances last year led to reports that several Championship sides were interested in his services in the January transfer window, but Lincoln were able to hold onto him.
The Dane’s contract at Sincil Bank was set to expire this summer, but the club took up their option to extend his deal by a further year, meaning Town are likely to have to pay a fee for his services.
Sorensen has played 139 League One games to date across his spells at Milton Keynes and Lincoln, and missed just two games for the Imps last season.
What kind of player is Lasse Sorensen?
Last season was a breakout year for Sorensen, who began his conversion from central midfield to wing-back in 2022/23, firmly making the position his own last season.
