Neo Eccleston joins Grimsby Town on loan from Huddersfield Town
The full-back will spend the season with the Manchester United vanquishers in League Two
Huddersfield Town full-back Neo Eccleston has moved to Grimsby Town on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old Chelsea youth product went on loan to fellow League Two side Barrow last season but returned in January.
Eccleston made three first-team appearance under Jon Worthington’s caretaker charge towards the end of last season but is yet to make a competitive appearance for Lee Grant’s Town this campaign.
Grant said in a club statement: “Needing consistent minutes at this stage of his career, securing the right loan move away for Neo was in everyone’s best interest.
“Playing regularly, competing at a good level and testing himself even further against driven opposition will be an invaluable experience for him, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on his progression from afar.
“A league he has impressed in previously, his challenge will be to break into the starting team and earn his place through hard work and strong performances. With plenty of potential to realise and a natural athleticism to make the most of, this is an opportunity that Neo should look to grab with both hands.”
