Player ratings as Huddersfield Town Women begin season with comfortable win
Town open the 2025/26 season with a routine 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers Belles
Bethan Davies - 7
Commanding debut. Vocal with the backline throughout and dealt comfortably with the little she had to do.
Autumn Housley - 6
An uneventful game for the Town rightback. Solid without having much to deal with. Replaced at half time.
Beth Ibbotson - 8
Solid performance from the centre half and rounded the game off with the third goal late on. Her header quashed any homes of a Belles comeback.
Beth Stanfield - 7
Much like her centre-back partner, dealt with pretty much everything that came her way.
Serena Fletcher - 7
A solid game from the full back, especially in the first half where her pace and persistence caused the Belles a few issues. A second half yellow was the only blip on a great Town performance
Lauren Griffiths - 7
Tidy game from the midfielder who kept Town ticking over throughout. Uneventful but solid.
Ella Duffield - 7
Ran the game in the first half, setting up Gindra for the opener from a corner. Quietened down as the second half ticked along as a procession.
Alise Gindra - 9
As debuts come, it doesn’t get much better. The Latvian midfielder reacted quickest from Duffield’s corner to open the scoring but rifling a second into the top corner from the edge of the box. Showed her versatility in the second half as she moved to right back.
Molly Firth - 7
Like most, a lively first half to help Town kill off their opponents early. Made a few dangerous runs and crosses from the right and could have had a goal herself but for a smart stop from Sharpe in the Belles goal
Hannah Burgess - 7
Another who shone in the opening 45 but didn’t need to break a sweat in the second as Town eased home. Laid the ball off for Gindra’s second after she was brought down in the box. Unlucky to not score as the Belles keeper denied her on a couple of occasions..
Louise Biggins - 7
Very unlucky not to score. Lots of chances fell her way but nothing came off for the striker. A frustrating day for the number 14 who on another day would have bagged a hatful. Lots of effort leading the line
