Player ratings as Huddersfield Town Women hit York City Ladies for seven
Town make it two from two at home after dismantling York City Women 7-1.
Bethan Davies - 7
A couple of questionable moments early on but recovered and dealt with the little she had to come up against. Made a fabulous save in the early stages of the second half to deny former Town striker Astle. Seemed to pick up a knock so replaced by Joyce in the second half.
Alise Gindra - 7
Up and down the right hand side for Town all day. Another impressive performance from Gindra
Beth Stanfield - 6
Solid. Not much to do but when needed both centre halves were on hand to smother any danger
Autumn Housley - 6
Similar to Stanfield. Not really troubled but when York asked questions, Housley was on hand to take charge.
Rebecca Beresford - 6
Quiet game for Beresford but adequately supported Mallin to allow her to flourish in front.
Rhema Lord-Mears - 9
Ran the show and oozed class throughout. Opened the scoring with a pearler and her second wasn’t bad either. Linked up well with midfield partner Duffield throughout. Town have a player on their hands.
Ella Duffield - 7
The Rolls-Royce in midfield for Town. Kept things ticking all game. A good sign of things to come if her and Lord-Mears can click in the middle.
Felicity Jones - 10
Had a lovely day against her former club. Hat trick rounded off by the best of the bunch when she rifled one into the top corner from the edge of the box. Three goals and an assist for Town’s number 7.
Kate Mallin - 8
An assist for Burgess topped off a solid performance down the left. Her deliveries cause issues all day. Had a few chances but couldn’t take one.
Hannah Burgess - 8
Worked hard and linked up with Fliss Jones well throughout. Bagged a deserved goal to give Town a 2-0 lead from close range. Denied a second by a brilliant save.
Louise Biggins - 7
Worked hard again. Very unlucky to not score thanks to two brilliant saves by Sidwell in the York goal.
Substitutes
Lauren Joyce (for Davies 78) - Will be disappointed with the goal she conceded but thankfully nothing to worry the overall scorline. 5
Laura Elford (for Mallin 78) - Another of the new signings impressing on their first appearance. Superbly whipped a shot into the far corner from Fliss Jones’ cut back. 7
Francesca Brown (for Biggins 78) - Game passed her by as it became end-to-end towards the final whistle so didn’t have much of a chance to make. 6
Molly Firth (for Lord-Mears 78) - Looked lively off the bench winning a few late corners but the game was over before she could make an impact. 6
Unused substitutes: Beth Ibbotson
