Relentless pressure the key to Town Women's recent form
Glen Preston's side haven't lost in the league since mid-September
Huddersfield Town Women continued their impressive streak of results with a 4-2 victory over Doncaster Belles — the second time that the Terriers have put four past the South Yorkshire team this season.
Goals from Beth Stanfield, Beth Ibbotson, and a brace from Charlotte Stuart secured another three points, suggesting that things are finally clicking into place. Town’s high pressing style of football seems to be causing real problems for their opposition.
Stanfield said: “It was nice to get a goal and an assist. It was just a really good performance and in the second half we were dominant.
“We have been working on counter-pressing, so when we lose it high up the pitch how quick can we win it back?
“So, I guess naturally we are all starting a bit higher up, being a bit more front footed and just trying to suffocate the opposition.”
