Alright, so it's down a division, but football is still good
There’s a new season approaching, and despite the disappointment of relegation to League One and a practically silent transfer window so far, there’s still plenty to look forward to in 2024/25.
Here’s a few things that have already whet our appetite.
1. A new-look strike-force?
Town’s lack of an obvious centre-forward who is both regularly available for selection and on the scoresheet has been a legitimate bugbear for years, Danny Ward’s 2021/22 campaign aside. Even so, at this stage of the transfer window there is still hope that this recurring issue might be put to bed.
Rhys Healey, in particular, has got us excited — all the club have to do is keep him fit. Meanwhile, Town have been credibly linked with a move for Charlton Athletic’s Alfie May, a former key player for Michael Duff’s Cheltenham Town who has scored 66 League One goals in the past three years.
