'There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind where the boy can go' — Tom Iorpenda's season at Notts County
We Are Terriers caught up with the 20-year-old Huddersfield Town midfielder, and his gaffer Martin Paterson, as a standout season on loan in League Two draws to a close

Notts County head coach Martin Paterson wasn’t shy in his assessment of where Tom Iorpenda’s career is heading if he stays on his current track.
A standout player in Huddersfield Town’s academy who got some exposure to first-team football last season, Iorpenda has spent this campaign on loan at Notts County. If you speak to anyone who has followed the club closely, they will echo Paterson’s thoughts.
He told We Are Terriers: “Tom has been excellent for us. He’s still 20 years old, so his ceiling for improvement is probably still massive, but he’s also a senior player at our club.
“I worked with Tom individually a lot when I was Huddersfield assistant manager [under Michael Duff], and from that, I had inside information, and I knew what he’s capable of, what his personality is and how to manage him.
“What I will say is there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind where the boy can go in football, no doubt in my mind — and I say it with such conviction, because he works hard, he’s got a great family, me and my wife have had conversations with his mum and dad… that’s how much detail I’ve gone into.
“I just want to give him the platform to show everyone else what I know.”
