The Terriers picked up a valuable point away at Cheadle Town Stingers
There was plenty of fizz on the surface but not much in terms of champagne football. The conditions were bleak. Grey skies, drizzle in the air and a slippery surface prevented both sides from getting their foot on the ball.
Huddersfield Town Women manager Glen Preston said: “The conditions really suited [Cheadle Town Stingers’] game.
“I thought we still tried to play football in those tough conditions.
“The concentration levels and discipline of the back line today were fabulous. They deserve a lot of credit because today was really difficult to play in. Tough circumstances, tough pitch and a tough opposition who love playing these conditions.”
