Town Women suffered their second defeat of the season, 2-0 away at Middlesbrough, thanks to two second half goals from Leanna Giles and Armani Maxwell.

The Terriers failed to create many chances and were hit late on, conceding two goals in three minutes.

Manager Glen Preston said: “I am really disappointed with our players today for not concentrating for 90 minutes.

“At the moment, we are not looking strong enough in the final third to put teams to the sword when we are on top, which I thought we were for the last 20 or 30 minutes of the first half.

“It’s a good thing that we don’t have a lot of time to feel sorry for ourselves and sulk.

“Hopefully, we will all make the decision, including the coaching staff, to really galvanise, get a lot of energy, have a good training session and try to put it right on Thursday.”
