Glen Preston’s side had the lead at half-time thanks to a superb Charlotte Stuart strike. Unfortunately, the tables turned in the second half, with the momentum mainly belonging to Barnsley, who found their equaliser from a set-piece.

Preston said: “I genuinely believe that we could have won every single game this season, but we do not finish chances. We don’t have a killer instinct at the moment.

“They have got to believe more. They have to have more desire and determination to score and back themselves.”

Town certainly did lack composure in front of goal, with a handful of chances coming to nothing — something that Town will have to improve on if they want to earn promotion.
