The new Huddersfield Town boss fielded questions alongside sporting director Mark Cartwright after being named the Terriers' latest head coach
In a scene that has become all too familiar at Huddersfield Town, Mark Cartwright accompanied Michael Duff for his introductory press conference. The sporting director will be hoping it is a long while before he next has to take to the big branded table at the front of the room.
After the explosive nature of Andre Breitenreiter’s late-tenure briefings, we were curious to see how far Duff would go in picking up where his predecessor left off. Namely: exactly how big an overhaul can we expect in the playing squad, and have decisions over certain players already been made?
The overall impression Duff gave was that of a man who is aware of what he is walking into and will not tolerate the cliques and fractions that Breitenreiter felt contributed to Town’s relegation.
Cartwright hinted that decisions have already been made on some players, and not just those whose departures will be announced shortly via the club’s end-of-season retained list.
