Tyreece Simpson departs Huddersfield Town for Stevenage
The striker has left the John Smith's Stadium in a permanent move
Tyreece Simpson has departed Huddersfield Town for League One rivals Stevenage for an undisclosed fee.
The centre-forward arrived from Ipswich Town two years ago but was never able to establish himself in the Terriers side, making nine substitute appearances in the Championship in 2022/23 and one start in the FA Cup before spending last season on loan with another League One outfit, Northampton Town.
Simpson played the final 30 minutes of the Terriers’ first pre-season friendly against Emley earlier this summer as part of a youthful XI and got on the scoresheet, but the 22 year old has played no further part for Michael Duff since then and was not taken out to Austria for their ongoing training camp abroad.
Town sporting director Mark Cartwright said in a club statement: “This is a deal that suits everybody concerned, and allows Tyreece the opportunity to seek the first team minutes he desires.
“Unlikely to have featured competitively at a senior level for us this season and not the profile of player that belongs at B Team level, we wish Tyreece well for the future.”
