Whoever Huddersfield Town appoint, their situation has to change
We're still awaiting news on the Terriers' head coach and sporting director roles, but filling them is just step one in a long summer of rebuilding
Sunday’s League One play-off final will be the last time Huddersfield Town fans want to be reminded about this season. Still, there will be a lot of people with a bitter ‘That should have been us’ in their minds when the trophy gets lifted at Wembley — and that’s only for those who can bear to watch it.
We all want things to be different next season, but at the moment, there is little to hold on to except a sense of resentment and concern. So the big questions remain: what did go wrong last season, and how sure can we be that those problems will be fixed?
For us to answer the second question, Town must show us that they have a solid response to the first. The best way they can start is with the announcements of their new sporting director and head coach — but there is plenty more than that for them to solve.
